Sandwich is a unique community in that we occupy 3 different counties. It is important to know which jurisdiction you live in. The Sandwich area is served by four different police departments (Sandwich Police, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, Kendall County Sheriff's Office, and LaSalle County Sheriff's Office). If you live in the neighboring city limits of Somonauk or Plano you are served by those respective police departments. Sandwich area residents are also served by 3 different fire department districts (Sandwich FD, Somonauk FD, Plano-Little Rock-Fox FD). Phone numbers are conveniently listed below.

From the South:
Sheridan Area: Take Sheridan/Sandwich Road (E2750th Road) North to County Line Road (N48th Road). Turn right to Main Street (E29th Road). Turn left to College Street. Turn right on College Street and proceed to the Sandwich Police Department, 308 East College Street on the Southwest corner of College and Terry Streets.
From the North:
Hinckley Area: Take East Sandwich Road South to Rt 34 (Church St) in Sandwich. Turn right to Terry Street. Turn left one block to the Sandwich Police Department at the Southwest corner of Terry and College Streets.
De Kalb/Sycamore Area: Take Somonauk Road South to Rt 34 in Somonauk. Turn left to Terry Street in Sandwich. Turn right one block to the Sandwich Police Department on the Southwest corner of Terry and College Streets.
From the East:
Plano/Yorkville/Oswego Area: Take Rt 34 (Ogden Ave.) West to Terry Street in Sandwich. Turn left one block to the Sandwich Police Department on the Southwest corner of Terry and College Streets.
From the West:
Somonauk/Earlville/Leland: Take Rt 34 East to Terry Street in Sandwich. Turn right one block to the Sandwich Police Department on the Southwest corner of Terry and College Streets.

The Police Commission is charged with the hiring, disciplinary actions, and promotions. Meetings are located in the Police Commissioner's office located in the Sandwich Police Department on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM unless otherwise publicly posted. The Police Commission can be reached at 815-786-7261.
Fraternal Order of Police
The Patrolman of the Sandwich Police Department are represented by the Fraternal Order of Police in all contractual bargaining and legal issues. More information will be posted here when available. For more information on F.O.P. visit www.fop.org.
